Potential exposure site, 28 new COVID cases reported by Algoma Public Health in Sault area

The region now has 135 active cases and 13 hospitalizations

Algoma Public Health is reporting 28 new COVID-19 cases in Algoma as well as a potential exposure site in the Sault.

APH is advising anyone who was at GoodLife Fitness (589 Second Line E) in Sault Ste Marie on the following dates and times to follow public health guidance.

The dates/times are as follows:

  • Nov. 8, 2021, between 3 p.m. and 4:30 pm
  • Nov. 9, 2021, between 1 p.m. and 2:30 pm

Anyone who was present on those dates/times is asked to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID and to seek testing and self-isolate if symptoms develop.

All 28 new cases are in the Sault Ste. Marie area and bring the number of active cases in the region to 135. The region also has 13 hospitalizations.

Of the new cases, 21 were infected through close contact with a known confirmed case; six are under the exposure category of unknown, which means they did not have any international travel or close contact with a known confirmed case; and the exposure category of one individual is currently under investigation.

All 28 individuals were tested in the past 48 hours and are currently self-isolating.
