Local residents open Anderson Family Restaurant

Since she was 14 years old, Elliot Lake resident Holly Anderson has been involved with local restaurants. Her dream was to one day open up her own restaurant and on Jan. 2 at 7 a.m, that dream became a reality.

Her family-owned restaurant, Anderson Family Restaurant, opened its door for the first time to smiling and supportive residents.

”Some old regulars from Regies Too came and are very supportive,” she said, looking around at the restaurant. “I’ve always wanted to own my own restaurant. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do.”

Being a family-owned restaurant, Anderson is in business with her brother Charlie, one of the restaurant's cooks.

As to why she chose the old Regies Too location, Anderson explained that a restaurant was always there.

”Ever since I was growing up, there has always been a restaurant here,” she said. “There was never not a restaurant here.”

Signs with the restaurant's name will be coming in the coming weeks, said Anderson.

As for what’s on the menu?

Anderson described the menu as “family-oriented and home cooked.”

Some examples of dishes include:

  • breakfast, including eggs, pancakes and omelettes
  • burgers
  • sandwiches
  • fish
  • pasta

For a full list of menu items, visit the Anderson Family Restaurant located at 19 Newfoundland Walk, behind Foodland.

The store hours are Mondays to Saturdays, 7 a.m until 7 p.m and Sundays 8 a.m until 4 p.m.

”Come and see us,” said Anderson. “We’re open.”
