New case of COVID-19 confirmed in Algoma

There are four active cases in the district

A new case of COVID-19 has been reported by Algoma Public Health (APH).

Case number 64 was tested on Dec. 21 and is currently self-isolating.

APH lists the exposure category as 'unknown', meaning "the person did not have recent international travel or close contact with a known confirmed case. How the person acquired the virus is not known."  

Regions within the Algoma District with COVID-19 cases reported in the past 14 days include Central and East Algoma, and Sault Ste. Marie and area, APH reports.

There are currently four active cases in the district – two in Algoma residents, and two in non-residents who are in the region temporarily.
