Luc Morrissette, who ran for Council in the 2018 election, has won a seat on council

A vote recount of the two candidates vying for the last seat on the new Elliot Lake council has found that Luc. D Morrissette has been elected to the challenged council seat over Bruce Ibbitson. The recount was conducted earlier today.

The only change in the vote numbers was for Morrissette who, according to the recount, received 1,097 votes down one vote from the previous unofficial result of 1,098 posted by the city on election night. Ibbitson’s numbers remain the same at 1,094.
