Blind River Mayor Sally Hagman is hoping residents will take part in a virtual public meeting on Tuesday evening.

The public meeting is the second one being held this year as part of an election promise by mayor Hagman to hold two meetings each year. The meetings allow residents to hear and take part in a wide range of presentations about work being done in the town by different organizations and departments.

“A public meeting tomorrow night is our second virtual public information session,” mayor Hagman said in her remarks to council at its virtual meeting Monday evening.

“The lineup includes presentations from the CEO of North Shore Power Group, an update on Broadband for our area. A presentation from Municipal Affairs and Housing as well as presentations from Algoma District Services Administration Board.

"The evening promises to be packed with new information for our residents and everyone can watch from the comfort of your own home.

"To view these presentations, please log on to the Town of Blind River website at 6:50 p.m. and click on the Zoom link that will take you to the live screen. We will begin promptly at 7 p.m.”

In addition, the mayor also commented on the Participaction challenge which put the town in 12th place overall.

“We ended the challenge in 12th overall place which is excellent given that this was our first year entering this contest,” she added. “I hope everyone continues to challenge their levels of exercise as we move through these beautiful days of summer and in 2022 when the challenge comes up again, we’ll be ready to be number one.”
