Blind River Mayor Sally Hagman issued a short statement prior to Tuesday evening’s virtual council meeting welcoming two new staff members to the community.
“Council would like to welcome Chris Zagar as the new Director of Public Works.
"Chris is no stranger to the residents of Blind River having worked at another local employer for many years,” she said prior to the meeting.
“We would also like to welcome Kathy Fortin to the receptionist position at the Town Office. Kathy is one of the many staff working in the front office ready to serve the needs of our community.”
She also issued a precaution to motorists with regard to school opening.
“The children are now back at school, and we ask everyone to be mindful of our pedestrians as they may not be mindful of you.”
