Every spring, Elliot Lake imposes half-load limits on municipal roadways. Seasonally, roads soften and weaken with excess moisture.
Transport truck access is restricted during this time, and loads are capped at five tons per axle to prevent damage to our roads.
As of March 11, 2024, load restrictions will come into effect in the City, and will be lifted based on conditions assessment of our roads Staff.
