Update:
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced today the details of a $1.5 billion spending plan for provinces and territories to help sectors and underrepresented groups hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The funding will be made available through the Workforce Development Agreements (WDAs) between the provinces and territories and the federal government.
Ontario will be allocated $614 million of the $1.5 billion investment.Funds can be spent on skills training, on-the-job training, employer-sponsored training, financial assistance and benefits, employment counselling and services, and job opportunities.
According to Trudeau, this comes in an effort to rebuild a healthy economy.

Prime MInister Justin trudeau will make an announcement at 11:30 a.m. today.
The prime minister is expected to continue to prod premiers towards more stringent measures to stop the spread of COVID-19.
It is also anticipated that Trudeau will announce hundreds of millions more for provinces to spend on skills training.
Trudeau will be joined by Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion Carla Qualtrough and President of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs Dominic LeBlanc.
Chief Public Health Officer of Canada Dr. Theresa Tam and Deputy Chief Public Health Officer of Canada Dr. Howard Njoo will be in attendance.
