NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF ELLIOT LAKE
********************************
Effective Monday July 5 Elliot Lake Public Library will be open for in person visits.

Hours of operation:
Monday - Friday 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Saturday 10:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

The health and safety of our staff and patrons is our top priority, and you will notice some changes when you visit. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience. Please follow staff direction – we are doing our best to make the library safe and welcoming.

1. The library can only admit ten patrons at a time. You may need to wait outside for a short time until a patron leaves. Please wait on the marked spots outside the door until a staff member gives the OK.

2. When you enter the library, please follow any posted arrows, instructions, or signs. A staff member will be located near the entrance to answer questions and explain our new procedures. You will be asked to provide your name and phone number. Hand sanitizer will be provided at the door. Masks must be worn in the library.

3. We are delighted to see you again! Your will have 20 minutes to choose your material and check out.

4. Please place all returns in the outside dropbox. Returned material will not be accepted at the circulation desk.

5. Inside the library, please keep a minimum distance of 2 metres (6 feet) from staff and other patrons. This is for your safety and ours.

6. Our free WiFi remains on, but we would ask you to use the WiFi outside the building. Three public computer workstations will be available to patrons by appointment only for 20 minute time slots which can be booked by staff at the door. Printing and computer services will be available, and regular fees will apply.

7. We will maintain our curbside pickup service during this time.

8. There is no access to public washrooms at this time.

Patrons are expected to follow these safety rules and any instructions provided by staff, and to follow the Library’s Patron Code of Conduct. Failure to meet these requirements may result in a suspension of library privileges.
