Blind River Mayor Sally Hagman will speak at the Remembrance Day service at Legion Branch 189 Nov. 11.

Council chose Hagman to speak at the indoor portion of the event at the Legion after the town received an invitation to attend from Poppy Chair Shelly Middaugh.

In her letter Middaugh indicated the service will start at 10 a.m. at the Legion Hall before moving to the cenotaph at around 10:40 am for the traditional wreath laying.

“Once the service is finished, the Legion Lounge will be open to share memories and camaraderie,” Middaugh said in the invitation. “Additionally, a lunch will be served upstairs in the hall at noon.”
