Huron Shores lifts fire ban

Area has received enough rain to reduce risk of forest fires

It's outdoor fire season. Jeff Turl/BayToday.

A fire ban instituted on June 1 has been lifted.

The fire ban was necessary for The Municipality of Huron Shores because conditions were very dry and the risk of wildfire very high.

The amount of rain received in the area has alleviated dry conditions, allowing the municipality to lift the ban.

For more information with respect to fire bans and infractions of the by-law, please contact the municipal office at 705-843-2033, or visit the Fire Department page.
