The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario wants to know how you feel about plans to set up Elliot Lake's first legal pot shop downtown.

You have until July 29 to make your submission to the government agency.

In May, Sessions Cannabis announced it had applied for numerous licenses to operate pot shops in Ontario, including one at 26 Prince Edward Walk, adjacent to the LCBO in downtown Elliot Lake.

In reply to ElliotLakeToday's request for local contact information, Sessions Cannabis said, "The owner of the Sessions Cannabis franchise is a resident of Elliot Lake who wishes to remain anonymous at this time."

In a news release Sessions said, "Sessions Cannabis (Sessions), an Ontario-based brand specializing in cannabis retail, has announced its next expansion with the planned opening of 30 more stores across the province this year, including a new location in Elliot Lake. The storefront will be located on Prince Edward Walk in a plaza shared with the LCBO."

Steven Fry, CEO of Sessions wrote, “We are pleased to partner with operators who are local community members, looking to bring an elevated cannabis retail experience to the area. Consumers in this market have been waiting for a brand that can provide both great quality products and stellar customer service."

If you wish to weigh in on the application, you can search for it  here.
