Hot, humid conditions expected until Tuesday

Heat warning in effect for:

  • Elliot Lake - Ranger Lake

Hot and humid conditions are expected today into Monday.

Temperatures reaching near 30 C, with humidex values near 36 C, are expected over the next two days.

Overnight lows near 18 C will provide little relief from the heat.

Hot and humid conditions may persist into Tuesday.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Watch for the effects of heat illness, including swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Keep your house cool. Block the sun by closing curtains or blinds.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
