Algoma Public Health is reporting no change in the number of hospitalizations and 22 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Sunday's update, though those numbers may be an underestimation due to limits on who can be tested.

There are currently 590 active cases and 12 people in hospital with COVID-19 in the Algoma Region. 80 cases have been resolved since the last report.

APH has conducted 333 tests since the last report.

Note: As of Dec. 31, 2021, the province has limited COVID-19 PCR testing to the highest risk populations. Furthermore, some people with mild or asymptomatic infection may not seek testing. Algoma Public Health states that the numbers of confirmed cases are an underestimate of the actual number of people with COVID-19 in the Algoma region.
