The Auxiliary Association of St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake has donated more than $10,000 towards the purchase of a new centrifuge machine for the hospital's laboratory.

The donation was made by the Gift Shop to support the hospital's ongoing efforts to provide the highest quality of care to its patients.

The centrifuge machine is an essential piece of equipment used in the hospital's laboratory to separate and analyze blood components, including red and white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. It is crucial for diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions, including anemia, leukemia, and other blood disorders.

The Auxiliary Association has a long history of supporting the hospital's mission to provide quality care to patients. The Auxiliary's members volunteer their time and resources to support the hospital's needs, including fundraising events and dinners.

"We are grateful for the support of the Auxiliary Association," said Jeremy Stevenson, CEO of SJGHEL. "We believe that this equipment will make a significant difference in the hospital's ability to provide first-class health care to its patients."

The money donated covers the entire cost of the new centrifuge machine, and in the coming weeks we expect to have it up and running.
