On Dec. 1, the streets of Elliot Lake will be lit up Christmas-style. The Santa Claus Parade will be happening at 7 p.m, departing from the Lester B. Pearson Civic Center and travelling through the downtown core and finishing at Collins Hall. Hot chocolate and a light reception will be held there to help warm spectators and parade volunteers.

With the weather looking at being -1C with no flurries, event organizers are looking for a great turnout.

"We have about 10-15 floats being a part of the parade with a great number of volunteers," said organizer Teresa Dunlop. "There are no final numbers on floats and volunteers because some are still signing up."

Spectators can expect to see the Ghostbusters truck, as well as a float by local business owner Texx Chapman of Texx in the Trees.

Volunteers and donations are still being accepted for the parade. If interested, contact either Darla Hennessey at 705-848-2287 ext. 2402, or Teresa Dunlop at 705-848-2287 ext. 2404.

ElliotLakeToday will keep readers updated with photos after the parade.
