The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) is mourning the loss of one of its own following the passing of Quinn Robelle at only 23 years of age.

Robelle passed away peacefully Thursday after a courageous battle with health issues.

He spent two seasons in the NOJHL as part of the defence for the French River Rapids, Elliot Lake Wildcats and Cochrane Crunch. That was from 2015 through 2017.

Robelle wore the captain's ‘C’ with French River in 2015-16 and he was an assistant the following season (2016-17) during his time with the Wildcats.

Following his final NOJHL season with the Cochrane Crunch, Quinn Robelle went on to play in NCAA Division III hockey at Becker College in Massachusetts.

In a NOJHL release, the league stated, "The league sends its deepest condolences to Quinn’s family, friends and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him during his all too brief time with us."
