Hagman, Posteraro to join Matinenda Cottage Association

They will provide council with feedback on services at Matinenda boat landing

Two members of Blind River council, Mayor Sally Hagman and Coun. Jennifer Posteraro, will sit on an expanded Matinenda Cottage Association as requested by cottagers on the lake.

The two were offered to sit on the association and would attend three or four meetings each year.

Blind River CAO/clerk Katie Scott said the association was looking for direct council involvement on the association because cottagers felt they did not have direct input from council on lake-related issues.

“They will be looking at and providing feedback to council with regard to the services at the Matinenda boat landing,” Scott said. “They felt they were out of the loop with some of the decisions that were made for this facility.”

With the new association structure, regular reports will be made to council at the beginning of the summer season on the water-only access lake, at the mid-season and at the end of the season.

Council supported the association upgrade.
