Grills will be going wild this Saturday as Blind River hosts its annual Ribfest.

It’s the sixth annual Grills Gone Wild celebration organized by Nick Gagnon with the support of local sponsors and the town of Blind River.

Ribfest kicks off at 11 a.m. on Saturday and runs until 1 a.m. at Blind River Town Park.

“Blind River fosters a vibrant local culture and hospitality, ensuring a lively atmosphere making it an ideal destination for hosting Ribfest,” Gagnon said.

The event will see several teams take part in a competition to judge the best tasting ribs as voted on by those who purchase a $2.50 ticket for a portion of ribs.

Participating teams include The Dawg House, WC Eacket Royal Grill, Rose Knows, The A Team, JRs Pizza, 50 Creek BBQ, Hard Knox BBQ and Ever Nice Racks.

Local Minor Hockey is selling hamburgers and hotdogs during the day and music is also being provided. Exhibitors and vendors will be on-hand selling their wares. There will also be a bouncy castle for the kids and a candy tent.

There will also be a beer tent set up.

With the forecast calls for warm and sunny weather and with this being Father’s Day Weekend, Ribfest may just be the destination for family and friends.
