It’s time to lace up your shoes and support people living with dementia in the community as the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District is set to host the annual IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s.

The Alzheimer Society of Elliot Lake and Algoma is once again hosting the annual IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s, which takes place on Sunday, May 28, 2023.

Registration opens up for the walk starting at noon on Sunday, walk day, at Elliot Lake Secondary School.

“The walk raises crucial funds that allow the local Alzheimer Society to offer programs and services to meet the needs of people living with dementia and their caregivers in the Algoma District,” said Tery Caporossi Executive Director at the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District. “The number of people in Canada living with dementia is rising rapidly. By the year 2050, more than 1.7 million people will be living with dementia in Canada. As the number of people affected by dementia increases, so does the need for services.”

Samantha Ralph of the Alzheimer Society said door prizes are also part of the walk.

“It will be our 15th annual walk, with generous door prizes donated by our community, Top Team prize, Top individual prize as well for the Kids Top earner prize and colouring contest,” she said.

Here’s how to get involved in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s and make a positive difference in the lives of people living with dementia and their families:
