WEATHER ALERT
ENVIRONMENT CANADA
***************************
Weather advisory in effect for:

  • Elliot Lake - Ranger Lake

Winter weather travel advisory in effect for this evening and overnight.

Hazards:
Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm by Wednesday morning.
Reduced visibilities due to heavy snow.
Snowfall rates of up to two cm per hour.

Timing:
This evening and overnight.

Discussion:
Snow at times heavy is expected to move into the region late this afternoon or early this evening. Visibility may be significantly reduced at times due to heavy snow. Snowfall rates of one to two cm per hour are possible. The snow is expected to move out of the region Wednesday morning.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
