Elliot Lake Retirement Living is accepting applications for 2023 community grants.

The intent of the program is to invest in activities, projects and individuals that help to make Elliot Lake a place that people want to live, retire and invest in, a news release says.

Last year, the ELRL grants  provided nearly $40,000 of support to many different groups and organizations that covered a wide range of interests and/or needs for the community. Those projects included:

  • Danceworks, for a portable roll down professional floor for the stage at Collins Hall
  • Coureurs de Bois for tools and supplies to enhance the trails
  • Elliot Lake Snowbirds Snowmobile Club for a furnace for their garage and supplies for a warming shack
  • Elliot Lake Aquatics Club for a new starter for their races
  • Wednesday Afternoon Guitarists for a new cabinet for storage of their sound equipment
  • Elliot Lake Youth Slo-Pitch for new baseball bats for the players
  • Elliot Lake Woodcarvers for tools and dust collectors for club
  • Renaissance Active Living Centre for a chairlift for access to the building
  • Counselling Centre of East Algoma food program for insulated food carriers, and other kitchen equipment

This year ELRL is hoping to do more of the same. The application deadline is Friday, May 19. For more information please go here
