"Raffi will be helping by talking to our players both on and off the ice. He was drafted by the New York Islanders 5th overall in the 2000 NHL entry draft.

"He played in the NHL for the New York Islanders, Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks, Phoenix Coyotes and San Jose Sharks.

"We look forward to and appreciate his upcoming mentorship."

The Red Wings are holding their training camp and tryouts at Elliot Lake's Centennial Arena from June 10 through 13.
