Elliot Lake Public Library returns to curbside pick up

But COVID-19 vaccine certificates can still be printed at the library

Due to the current COVID-19 numbers, and to ensure the safety and protection of staff and patrons, the Elliot Lake Public Library will be reverting back to curbside pick up only. Please see the guidelines below.

COVID-19 vaccine certificates can still be obtained by phoning with Health Card information and making an appointment for pickup or by lining up at the door while following COVID safety protocols. 

Curbside pickup guidelines:

Patrons can request materials by placing a hold online or by phone. Curbside pickup will be available to patrons at the following times: 

  • Monday 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Tuesdays 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Wednesdays 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Thursdays 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Fridays 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Saturday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Patrons can place holds or request by phone a maximum of four DVDs (per household), five audiobooks, five children's books, five magazines and five YA/adult items each week.

To place a hold online:

  • From the main page of our website, click browse online catalogue – right-hand side under popular links
  • A new tab will open – click login- top centre
  • In the top field enter the library card number (no spaces)
  • In the bottom field enter PIN – books
  • Change search field from everything to the library search
  • Search for books you would like
  • Select book – click place hold button
  • A small box will appear – click place hold again to get confirmation (success)
  • When finished selecting books and placing holds click logout

To request books by telephone:

You will be required to provide your name, library card number, title and author of books you would like.

When your holds are ready staff will contact you and a pickup time will be arranged.

When you arrive at the library you can call the library circulation desk or ring the buzzer at the main door. You will be required to keep two meters from the entrance. A staff member will have material ready in a plastic bag which will be placed on a table outside the main entrance. Once the staff member has returned inside you can pick up your bag of material.

Patrons are expected to follow standard COVID safety rules and any instructions provided by staff and to follow the Library's Patron Code of Conduct. Failure to meet these requirements may result in a suspension of library privileges.
