ESPANOLA - On Nov. 5, 2019 at approximately 10:41 p.m., members of the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the Sables-Spanish Rivers Township.
The accused, who will not be named to protect the identity of the victim, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose contrary to section 88 of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
- Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition contrary to section 86(1) CC x 2
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on Dec. 16, 2019.
