The Elliot Lake Family Health Team will be administering COVID-19 vaccines at Collins Hall (120 Hillside Dr. N.) on Wednesday, March 31 and Thursday, April 1.

The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.

To book an appointment, please call 1-705-461-8882 ext. 611.

Booking is now open for COVID-19 vaccines for some health care workers, faith leaders, those who care for the deceased or make home visits to unwell persons, pastoral care workers, staff and essential caregivers at congregate care facilities for seniors, Indigenous adults, people aged 75 and up, and adult chronic home care recipients.

“Blocks of appointments are based on vaccine supply,” states a recent news release issued by Algoma Public Health (APH). “If you do not get an appointment for these upcoming clinics, don’t panic. More appointments will be available for bookings in the near future.”

These immunizations are part of the province’s planned first phase of vaccinations.

Phase two is expected to be underway later in April.

Walk-in appointments are not available and anyone attending without an appointment will not be vaccinated, says the health unit.

These appointments are available only for first doses of the vaccine.

Similar clinics are also taking place in Spanish, Blind River and other areas of Algoma in the coming weeks. Please check the APH website to find out more about one near you.
