Yesterday, Elliot Lake city staff posted the Council agenda package for Monday, August 14. It includes a financial report from Mount Dufour Ski Hill.
The report does not include an independent auditor's report. Instead, city staff summarized the unaudited financials. The staff report and financial report are found on pages 16 to 22 here.
The financial report includes calculations not typical in financial reporting. In one example, 2023 Donation revenue of $5,585 is compared to the previous year's $400 and represented as 1,296.25 percent.
The ski hill is an important and valuable asset that receives support from the local taxpayers. Reported revenues for the last financial year ending June 30, 2023, have grown to $395,427.
