Clean yards, property standards, feeding wildlife, animal control, responsible pet ownership, smoking, and ‘sea cans’, will be discussed during a municipal bylaw information session, Thursday evening, May 16 at 6:30 p.m. at city hall.

Mayor Andrew Wannan announced the meeting during the announcements at Monday’s council meeting.

The topics are timely for Elliot Lakers

An alleged dog attack is presently before the court. It was reported to have occurred early this year. A provincial court hearing was held on March 20. Another court hearing is scheduled for June 19, at the court in Elliot Lake.

‘Sea cans’ – shipping containers, have become popular for commercial storage. Recently, the matter was pursued through a Property Standards Hearing Committee meeting, April 30.

"Thursday evening’s presentation by the municipal enforcement department will be followed by an interactive question and answer period," Wannan said.

“The department looks forward to this session as part of their ongoing efforts to promote community awareness and compliance with local bylaws."

"Please contact the bylaw department with any questions at 705-848-2287 Extension 2119,” Mayor Wannan said, concluding the announcement.
