Transit users in Elliot Lake will need to find alternate methods of transportation on a few dates over the holidays.
The city announced its 2022 holiday transit service schedule this week.
There will be no service on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day for transit, nor for specialized (handi-lift) transit services.
Last-minute shoppers should note that the last service run on Christmas Eve will be 6 p.m., with service until 4 p.m. for handi-lift transit.
For those ushering in 2023, New Year’s Eve service on Dec. 31 will run on regular hours for both transit and the handi-lift service.
Here’s the town’s 2022 Holiday Transit Services Schedule:
- Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 – last run 6 p.m.
- Christmas Day, Dec. 25 – no service
- Boxing Day, Dec. 26 – no service
- Resume service on Tuesday, Dec. 27
- New Year’s Eve Day Dec. 31 – regular hours
- New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2023 – no service
- Resume service on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023
Specialized (Handi-Lift) Transit Hours of Operation:
- Dec. 24 – service till 4 p.m.
- Dec. 25 – no service
- Dec. 26 – so service
- Resume service on Tuesday, Dec. 27
- Dec. 31 – regular hours
- Jan. 1, 2023 – no service
- Resume service on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023
