Christmas concert brings out festive feelings

Elliot Lake’s Collins Hall was filled to capacity Friday evening

Elliot Lake’s Collins Hall was filled to capacity Friday evening as people took in the Community Christmas Concert hosted by the local DanceWorks Dance and Wellness Studio and its director Christine Brunet.

It was the second annual holiday concert put on by the dance studio and featured its students and a range of musical performances by different choirs from the community, along with a more contemporary music feature by the Kaiser North band.

Popular musician and recent inductee to the Northern Ontario Country Music Association, Jim Graham, introduced the various acts with the special brand of humour he is known for in Elliot Lake.

The event raised money for the North Shore Parents Association of Dance and for the local food bank's Christmas drive.

The choir performances included Jewels and Gents under the direction of Ann Foy, who was also part of the Pretty Sharp quartet, Our Lady of Fatima choir directed by teacher Mark Frolick, and the Elliot Lake Young Voice Choir. Each choir sang familiar holiday songs with the audience joining in the festivities.
