THUNDER BAY — A Thunder Bay family will gather in front of a TV next Sunday to watch a video clip broadcast on America's Funniest Home Videos.

The significance of the occasion may be lost, for now, on three-year-old Colson Antoniszyn, but in years to come he'll have an interesting story to share with his friends, and perhaps his own children.

Colson was still just two when he toddled into his family's living room on Christmas morning last year.

These are among the exciting moments that parents record for posterity, but on this occasion, there was quite a twist.

The little boy "kind of walked around the corner, and Santa had come, and he pretty much just looked at us and said 'Mom, I don't care,' and kept telling me that he didn't care about Christmas morning," his mom Ellen said in an interview Monday.

She believes "he was just so unsure of what was happening around him, and he was so tired that when he woke up he just didn't really know...but his tune changed once he realized there were presents involved."

Although Antoniszyn was amused in the moment, she didn't think it was necessarily that humorous.

It was only at the suggestion of a cousin that the family wound up submitting the 25-second video to the producers of America's Funniest Home Videos.

That was almost a year ago now.

"I almost totally forgot about it, and then they emailed me this week and said 'you're gonna be on,'" Antoniszyn said.

The video will be shown as part of a montage of entries during the Nov. 26 broadcast.

Under an agreement with the producers, it can't be shown elsewhere until after the program.

Colson will receive a T-shirt from the show as thanks for his contribution.

Now that he's a year older, his mom said he's excited to be on TV, and added "we're definitely going to record him again this year" on Christmas morning.
