With winter fast approaching, special clothing and accessories are needed to help keep children warm from the bitter cold.

On Oct. 14, a winter clothing drive will be held at Claire Dimock daycare center to help collect donations for those less fortunate.

The annual winter coat drive is looking for donations of winter coats, snow pants, snow suits, boots, hats and mittens of all sizes for all ages.

There are three locations to drop off items: North Shore Best Start Hub/Toy Lending Library at 185 Ottawa Ave, Claire Dimock Daycare Center at 12 Westhill or at 123 Spruce Ave.

If donations are needed to be picked up, call Debbie at 705-261-0184 or Judy at 705-848-7056.

The event is free and will be from 10 a.m to noon on Oct. 14 at the Claire Dimock daycare center. The event organizers are asking the public to please not arrive before the allotted time slot.

Everything at the clothing drive is free for anyone in the community.
