ST. JOSEPH’S GENERAL HOSPITAL ELLIOT LAKE
************************
St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake (SJGHEL) would like to advise the public that the influenza outbreak that was declared at the Camillus Centre by Algoma Public Health has concluded. We want to express our sincerest gratitude for the cooperation and understanding of our community. While the situation at the Camillus Centre is under control, we are currently still in outbreak on the hospital third floor Med-Surg unit, and it is crucial to remain vigilant and continue taking precautionary measures.

SJGHEL would like to point out some key points to remember:

  1. Self-Screen: If you are feeling unwell or have been in close contact with someone who has been unwell, please postpone your visit until you are symptom-free and have completed any necessary quarantine.
  2. Mask Mandate: Wearing a mask is mandatory for all visitors on the premises. Masks must always cover both the nose and mouth. This precaution helps minimize the risk of transmission.
  3. Hand Hygiene: Maintain good hand hygiene by frequently washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using hand sanitizer provided at designated stations.

By following these precautionary measures, we can continue to protect the well-being of everyone in our community.

Thank you to all the Oak’s staff for their extraordinary efforts in protecting the residents and their commitment to managing this outbreak.
