SUDBURY — With intake of students into Cambrian College’s music program remaining suspended, and the last students in the program having now graduated, the college is selling off its musical instruments starting this week.

“The intake of new students remains suspended, the program itself is not,” explained Cambrian College spokesperson Dan Lessard, in an email to Sudbury.com.

“There is a formal process for that, which we have not undertaken yet. However, given enrolment trends provincially, we do not anticipate a change to the decision to suspend the intake, and that is the reason we are selling the musical instruments.

“The space previously occupied by the music program is needed for classrooms for other programs, as we are growing in our overall enrolment.”

A “musical yard sale” is being held June 28-30 in room 1176 at the college. The event runs 6-9 p.m. June 28 (no appointment necessary) and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 28, 29 and 30 (by appointment only). Email [email protected] to book a time.

“Calling all music educators, enthusiasts, and organizations: Cambrian College’s School of Creative Industries is hosting a sale of musical instruments, scores and equipment,” said a press release.

“Don’t miss these great deals; no reasonable offer will be refused! Sale items include guitars, brass, wind, percussion, and string instruments; pianos and keyboards; scores; vinyl recordings; and more.”

Payment will be by debit and credit card only.
