Starting Monday morning a section of Hillside Drive South from Ontario Avenue to the lights at Highway 108 will be closed, the city announced in a news release.
“As of Monday, May 28 Hillside Drive South from the corner of Hwy 108 to Ontario Avenue (in front of Milltown Motors) will be closed for approximately three weeks for work on the storm drains and road surface,” Elliot Lake CAO Daniel Gagnon said in the news release. “Detour signs will be used. Patrons of the Beer Store will have to park in the parking lot to the north (behind the store) and access the building from the sidewalk.”
“We apologize for any inconvenience during the construction period, but this will correct the long standing and significant bump in the road surface on that stretch of Hillside,” the news release stated.
