The Beta Sigma Phi Chapter 11167 presented the St. Joseph’s Hospital Elliot Lake Foundation with a cheque for $880 that will go toward the fundraising effort to upgrade oncology and pharmacy departments at the medical facility.
The money was raised at a barbeque held outside Soo Mill.
Sigma Phi member Carol Rott presented the cheque to Earle Jones, vice chair of the foundation. Jeremy Stevenson, the hospital CEO was also present for the presentation.
Rott commented that the sorority would like to encourage more fundraising for the oncology project.
