APH reports three new cases of COVID-19, low-risk exposure on Air Canada flight

Algoma Public Health has reported three new cases of COVID-19, all from the Sault Ste. Marie area.

Case No. 564, tested on Nov. 5, is from international travel.

Case No 565, also tested on Nov. 5, is considered unknown, and case 566, tested on Nov. 6 is classified as close contact.

All three individuals are currently self-isolating. 

These cases bring the total number to 566 since the start of the pandemic.

Algoma Public Health is also advising the public of a potential exposure to COVID-19 for anyone who travelled on the following Air Canada flight on Nov. 4, 2021:

  • Air Canada, Flight AC 8201. Passengers who sat in rows 8-18 and flight crew who served these rows should contact their local public health unit for further information.

There are currently 58 active cases in the Algoma region and two hospitalizations.
