APH reports one new case of COVID-19

Algoma Public Health is reporting one new case of COVID-19 in the Sault Ste. Marie area.

Case No. 225, tested on March 25, was exposed through close contact and is currently self-isolating.

Close contact means the person acquired their infection through close contact with a known confirmed case. 

There are currently 18 active cases in the Algoma region.

Algoma regions with COVID-19 cases reported in the past 14 days include:

  • Central and East Algoma
  • Sault Ste. Marie and area
  • Elliot Lake and area
