APH reporting two new COVID cases in Sault Ste. Marie

Algoma Public Health is reporting two new COVID-19 cases in the Algoma region, both of which are in the Sault Ste. Marie area.

The new cases bring the number of active cases in the region to eight and the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 416 in Algoma.

Case 415, tested on Aug. 14, was exposed through close contact with a known confirmed case.

Case 416, tested on Aug. 15, was exposed through international travel.

Both individuals are currently self-isolating and all close contacts have been notified.

Regions in Algoma that have reported COVID cases in the past 14 days include the Sault area as well as north Algoma.
