APH reporting one new COVID case

Algoma Public Health is reporting one new COVID-19 case in the Algoma region.

In a release, APH says the new case is "from Elliot Lake and area that is associated with the ongoing cluster investigation at Warsaw."

The new case brings the total number of COVID cases in Algoma since the start of the pandemic to 194.

The individual was tested on Feb. 14 and is currently self-isolating.

The exposure category for the individual is unknown, meaning the person did not have any international travel or close contact with a known confirmed case.

There are currently 10 active COVID cases in the Algoma region, with one person currently hospitalized.
