Algoma Public Health reports ten new cases of COVID-19 and the region's ninth death

APH asks every Algoma resident to continue doing their part to protect our community members, including getting fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Algoma Public Health is reporting 10 new cases of COVID-19 and one death in the Sault Ste. Marie area.

Out of respect for the family, no further information is being shared about the death.

This brings the total to 593 cases and nine deaths in the Algoma region since the beginning of the pandemic.

Of the new cases, four are of unknown origin, and six are linked to close contact with a known case of COVID-19.

All of the individuals were tested on Nov. 8 and 9, and all are self-isolating.

There are currently 63 active cases and one hospitalization in the Algoma Public Health region.

  • North Algoma
