Algoma Public Health is reporting no new hospitalizations and 73 new cases of COVID-19, though that number may be an underestimation due to limits on who can be tested.

There are currently 16 people in hospital with COVID-19 in the region.

Since the last report, 31 cases have been resolved.

There are 625 active cases of COVID-19 in the region, up from 583 yesterday.

APH has performed 233 tests with a positivity rate of 31,3 per cent.

Of the eligible population, 84 per cent have received at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Note: As of Dec. 31, 2021, the province has limited COVID-19 PCR testing to the highest risk populations. Furthermore, some people with mild or asymptomatic infection may not seek testing. Algoma Public Health states that the numbers of confirmed cases are an underestimate of the actual number of people with COVID-19 in the Algoma region.
