A soon-to-be father from Hornepayne says he cried tears of joy when he found out he had won $500,000.

Cole Moulton and his girlfriend were on their way back from a casino when they stopped at an Esso in Richmond Hill to get some snacks.

That’s when the 20-year-old decided to buy a few Instant Reel Cash tickets.

“They were just staring at me — how could I not pick one up?” he joked, while claiming his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

“I asked my girlfriend to double-check my ticket, as I didn’t want to get too excited before confirming the win was real.”

Moulton plans to buy himself a new car and a truck for his girlfriend, go back to school and start his own business.

“It’s a blessing to know that I’ll now be able to take care of my girlfriend and our child, as we are expecting," he added. "This could not have happened at a better time, and I feel so lucky.”
