There's no reason to be alarmed when cell phones, radios and TVs across the province blare with the now familiar tone of the Alert Ready system this week.

On May 10, a national test of the Alert Ready system is taking place at 12:55 p.m.

To help improve the overall Alert Ready system, a third party partner is conducting a short survey about the test.

Anyone interested in taking part in a short survey after the test, is invited to click here to participate. Your feedback is important to us and we thank you in advance for your participation.

Please do not call 911 for information about the test. Using 911 for non-emergency calls could delay help for people experiencing real emergencies.

Alert Ready is Canada’s emergency alerting system. It delivers critical and potentially life-saving alerts to Canadians through television, radio and LTE-connected and compatible wireless devices.

The Alert Ready system was developed with many partners, including federal, provincial and territorial emergency management officials, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Pelmorex, the broadcasting industry and wireless service providers.

Together, these partners work to ensure Canadians receive alerts immediately and know when to take action to stay safe.
