NEWS RELEASE
HEALTH SCIENCES NORTH
******************************
SUDBURY - Health Sciences North (HSN) has no admitted patients who have tested positive for COVID-19.

New: A number of HSN outpatient programs and services are cancelled for patients who are currently well, and are coming to HSN for routine check-ups or other non-urgent reasons. These appointments will be rebooked for a later date. HSN will be calling all patients who have appointments to advise them of any changes to their visit. Anyone who has not received a call, can assume their appointment will go ahead as scheduled.

New: Patients who are scheduled for an appointment at HSN, but have a fever, cough, or shortness of breath are asked not to come to the hospital for their appointment and instead call their clinic to reschedule or make alternative arrangements.

New: HSN reminds members of the community that if they feel overwhelmed, Crisis Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 705-675-4760, or by visiting HSN’s Mental Health and Addictions Centre at 127 Cedar St. Sudbury from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.

HSN will be screening all patients and visitors coming to the Ramsey Lake Health Centre and the Kirkwood site beginning on Tuesday, March 17. Patients and visitors will be asked about their symptoms and recent travel history.

While HSN’s Emergency Department entrance remains open for patients, 24 hours a day, public access to the Ramsey Lake Health Centre will be limited to the following entrances between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.:
    •    Main Entrance of the Hospital
    •    South Tower Entrance – facing Public Health building
    •    Cancer Centre Main Entrance (closes at 6 p.m.)
    •    Rehabilitation Entrance - access ramp facing Travel Way Inn (from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

We ask cancer patients use the Cancer Centre entrance so they can be screened appropriately.

All other entrances at the Ramsey Lake Health Centre are closed.

The main entrance at 680 Kirkwood Drive is closed.

More information on visitor restrictions, enhanced patient screening, elective surgery cancellations and HSN’s COVID-19 Assessment Centre can be found here.
