Blind River mayor reminds residents about mass vaccination clinics, spring safety at council meeting

The mayor also urged residents to respond to surveys for the town’s survey for the community and safety well-being plan

Blind River Mayor Sally Hagman is urging volunteers to come forward to assist with mass vaccinations in the community.

“As we get ramped up to receive immunization shots on mass, there will be a need for volunteers to assist in the process. Volunteer drivers, those who can deliver food to workers, those that can assist in showing people where to go when getting their vaccine and the list of coordination is great. If you would like to volunteer, contact Sommer Francoeur at the Huron Shores Family Health Clinic.

Sommer can be reached at 705-356-1666 ext 260.

“Spring is definitely in the air and judging from all the pictures that are on social media, Blind River residents flocked in droves this past weekend to the end of the Boom Camp Road to see the ice mountains, compliments of Mother Nature,” the mayor said.

The public is reminded not to venture out on to the ice mountains due to safety hazards and difficulty for emergency staff to rescue people from who could fall through.

The mayor also urged residents to respond to surveys for the town’s survey for the community and safety well-being plan. It can be found on the town website or by asking for hard copy surveys from the municipal office.

“Your opinion is important and more than one person in the household can complete the survey. The more surveys received, the better picture we have for all residents of Blind River,” the mayor said.
