Blind River Mayor Sally Hagman took the opportunity at council’s last meeting of the year to reflect on 2020 with residents dealing with COVID-19 and restrictions.

“This is the last meeting of council for 2020 and what a crazy year it’s been."

“When we look back to last December, who could have predicted the global change as a result of the COVID-19. Who could have predicted that we would be holding meetings online through a software package called Zoom. Blind River residents can be proud that you have weathered this storm through hand washing, social distancing, wearing masks and implementing the advice given by Algoma Public Health. It’s been an extremely challenging time and we know that challenges will continue into 2021.”

“This holiday season, it’s important to be kind not only to yourselves but also to your family, friends and neighbours. Our mental health is being taxed as much as our physical health. When possible, get outside and enjoy all that Blind River has to offer.”

“Our holiday wish from council to all of you is to enjoy a safe, healthy and fun filled season and above all else simply enjoy the magic of this special time of year,” she added.
