Blind River councillor Steven Wells issued a news release on a change at the town’s Food Bank to respond to COVID-19 concerns.
Coun. Wells, who is chair of the Blind River Emergency Food Bank, said the board met on Monday and decided to close its yard sale. The Food Bank is located at 65 Youngfox Rd.
“To ensure the safety of clients, yard sale shoppers and volunteers… effective immediately, the yard sale at the Blind River Food Bank will be closed to shoppers until further notice,” Coun. Wells said in the news release.
The Food Bank will remain open to serve clients on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. until further notice.
“Volunteers will attempt to ensure that all clients receive service in a safe, confidential and respectful manner,” the release stated.
