Winnipeg woman faces weapon, theft charges after coffee shop incident

BLIND RIVER - On Sept. 3, 2018 at approximately 12:10 p.m. members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft call at a local coffee shop on Causley Street in the town of Blind River, Ont.

The complainant reported a female just stole a purse and was being held awaiting police. Once on scene, police arrested the female. After investigation, it was also learned that the female (allegedly) brandished a pair of scissors to one of the people who were detaining her.         

Angela Fox, 33 years of age, from Winnipeg, Man. was charged with:

  • Theft under $5,000, contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code (CC), and
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, contrary to section 88 of the CC.

The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court  in Blind River, Ont. on Sept. 4, 2018.
