Victim reports being threatened with gun during robbery incident

OPP continue to investigate as suspect remains unidentified

On Jan. 17, 2022 at approximately 11:30 p.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a residence on Chalmers Crescent in Elliot Lake in regards to a robbery occurrence.

The complainant had reported that person entered their residence, threatened them with a long gun, stole money, and then departed. The person was described as male, 5'8" to 6' tall, wearing black hockey style mask, skateboard shoes with white laces and a ball-cap.

The OPP's Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT) assisted with the investigation.
